ALABAMA

Dentists - 20 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 12 CE's for relicensure. 6 CE's can be home-study.
Dentists and hygienists must complete an Infection Control course every other year.
Licenses must be renewed annually.

ALASKA

Dentists - 28 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 14 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

ARIZONA

Dentists - 72 CE's for relicensure. 24 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 54 CE's for relicensure. 24 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 3 years.

ARKANSAS

Dentists - 50 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 40 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
All dental professionals must complete a 2 ceu hour course in Infection Control.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

CALIFORNIA

Dentists - 50 CE's for relicensure. 25 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternate Practice - 35 CE's for relicensure. 17 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists (includes Extended Functions) - 25 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Assistants (includes Extended Functions) - 25 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
All dental professionals must complete 2 CE's in Infection Control and 2 CE's in California Dental Practice Act. We offer both courses which are approved by California.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years based on your birth month.
Our courses are Category 1.

COLORADO

No current continuing education requirements.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

CONNECTICUT

Dentists - 25 CE's for relicensure, effective October 1, 2007. 25 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 16 CE's for relicensure. 0 CE's can be home-study. A Continuing Education Waiver may be used for out of state licensees.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

DELAWARE

Dentists - 50 CE's for relicensure. 30 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 24 CE's for relicensure. 15 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

DISTRICT of COLUMBIA

FLORIDA

Dentists - 30 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study
Registered Dental Hygienists - 24 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study
All dental professionals are required to complete 2 CE's of Prevention of Medical Errors every cycle and 2 CE's of Domestic Violence every 6 years.
All dental professionals are required to complete a course in HIV & AIDS prior to their first license. This course is no longer required for each cycle.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

GEORGIA

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. 30 CE's must be clinical. 20 CE's can be home-study. 4 CE's may be in CPR.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 22 CE's for relicensure. 15 CE's must be clinical. 11 CE's can be home-study. 4 CE's may be in CPR.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

HAWAII

Dentists - 32 CE's for relicensure. 16 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 20 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

IDAHO

Dentists - 30 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study. This starts 10/1/06.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 24 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study. This starts 4/1/07.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years. This starts 10/1/06 for dentists and 4/1/07 for hygienists.

ILLINOIS

Dentists - 32 CE's for relicensure. 16 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 24 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 3 years.

INDIANA

Dentists - 20 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 14 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.
All dental professionals are required to complete Ethics, Professional Responsibility and Indiana Statutes governing the license and practice of dentists and dental hygienists.

IOWA

Dentists - 30 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Assistants - 20 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study. 2 CE's in Infection Control.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

KANSAS

Dentists - 60 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

KENTUCKY

Dentists and Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for Categories 'A', 'B' and 'C'. For Category 'B', 20 CE's, scientific-based dental related courses in presentation format. For Category 'C', 10 CE's, can be home-study courses.
Dentists and Registered Dental Hygienists must successfully complete 2 CE's of HIV & AIDS every 10 years. Our course is not currently approved for Kentucky.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

LOUISIANA

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. 20 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 24 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.
At least half of CEU credits must be clinical.
No specific courses are required. All courses must be aimed at or related to patient care.

MAINE

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Denturists - 20 CE's for relicensure. 5 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

MARYLAND

Dentists and Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for relicensure. 15 CE's can be home-study.
Dentists and Registered Dental Hygienists are required to complete 2 CE's of Infection Control for relicensure.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

MASSACHUSETTS

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. 8 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 20 CE's for relicensure. 4 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

MICHIGAN

Dentists - 60 CE's for relicensure. 20 CE's can be home-study. 1 CEU in Pain and Symptom Management.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 36 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Assistants - 36 CE's for relicensure. 12 CE's can be home-study.
All dental professionals are required to complete 2 CE's of Infection Control for relicensure.

MINNESOTA

Dentists - 50 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.

MONTANA

Dentists - 60 CE's for relicensure every 3 years. All can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists Limited Access Permit - 48 CE's for relicensure every 3 years. All can be home-study.

NORTH CAROLINA

Dentists - 15 CE's for relicensure. 3 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 6 CE's for relicensure. 2 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed annually.

NORTH DAKOTA

Dentists - 32 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 16 CE's for relicensure. 5 CE's can be home-study.
Registered/Qualified Assistants - 8 CE's for relicensure. 2 CE's can be home-study.
Required courses - 2 CE's of Infection Control must be completed in office or formal classroom training.

OHIO

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. 30 CE's can be home-study.

Required courses for Dentist only - 2 CE's of Infection Control and 2 CE's of Substance Abuse (Substance Abuse must be directly interactive).
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

OKLAHOMA

Dentists - 60 CE's for relicensure. 30 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for relicensure. 15 CE's can be home-study.
Home-study is credited 1 CEU for each 3 CE's taken.
Licenses must be renewed every 3 years.

OREGON

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 24 CE's for relicensure. All can be home-study.
At least three hours of continuing education must be related to medical emergencies in a dental office.

PENNSYLVANIA

Dentists - 30 CE's for relicensure. 15 CE's can be home-study.

Dental Technicians - 4 CE's annually or 8 CE's biannually for relicensure. All can be home-study.
Courses must be renewed annually or biannually.

SOUTH DAKOTA

Dentists - 100 CE's for relicensure. 25 CE's must be university based. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 75 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Advanced Dental Assistants - 60 CE's for relicensure. 10 CE's can be home-study.
Licenses must be renewed every 5 years.

TENNESSEE

Dentists - 40 CE's for relicensure. All can be home study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 30 CE's for relicensure. All can be home study.
Registered Dental Assistants - 24 CE's for relicensure. All can be home study.
Required courses - 2 CE's of Chemical Dependency during each renewal cycle. Our Substance Abuse-Adult (2 CE's) or Substance Abuse - Pediatric (2 CE's) courses meet this requirement.
Licenses must be renewed every 2 years.

TEXAS

Dentists - 12 CE's for relicensure. 4 CE's can be home study.
Registered Dental Hygienists - 12 CE's for relicensure. 4 CE's can be home study.
Registered Dental Assistants - 6 CE's for relicensure. All can be home study.
Dentists and Dental Hygienists - effective 1/1/05, shall complete an additional 3 CE's in jurisprudence, every 3 years.
