- Observe the signs, symptoms, injuries, and risk factors which may indicate domestic violence.
- Recognize the signs, symptoms, injuries, and risk factors which may indicate domestic violence.
- Identify the reasons for victims' reluctance to disclose abuse.
- Learn screening procedures to identify suspected victims of domestic violence.
- Learn screening procedures to identify suspected perpetrators of domestic violence.
- Provide patients and perpetrators with information about domestic violence and community domestic violence resources.
- Be aware of the availability of a national 24 hour hotline for victims and other resources.
- Recognize the legal obligation of dental professionals to serve as mandated reporters of abuse and neglect perpetrated on patients.
